Abstract

It is well documented that apart from mast cells and basophils there are other cells that can produce and release histamine. Moreover, histamine exerts its biological actions through four types of histamine receptors. Nowadays histamine is recognized for its multiple biological activities regulating both physiological and pathological processes as one of humoral factors. What is more, histamine is indisputably one of the essential factors regulating inflammatory reaction not only in early phase but also in the course of chronic phase of inflammation.
