ABSTRACT
Ciprofloxacin and chloramphenicol belong to the antimicrobials used in veterinary medicine for, among others, rabbit otitis, respiratory or skin diseases treatment.
In the study ciprofloxacin (Polfa, Grodzisk) and water soluble chloramphenicol (Sigma) at clinically relevant concentrations were tested on their impact on inducible nitric oxide synthase activity, tumor necrosis factor-a production and the intracellular level of cAMP in the phagocytic cells isolated from rabbit blood. Both antibiotics exhibited some modulatory effects on the studied parameters.
